Do your tours have anything to offer local Crucians?

Absolutely! As a local, you’re sure to be familiar with our route and most of the stops along the tour but you will have an opportunity to discover new items at our tasting locations and gain insight about the establishments themselves. We will also share many interesting, unknown facts about downtown Christiansted’s history, architecture and culture that you may not be aware of.

Additionally, you can take advantage of being a local and relish in the unique opportunity to re-visit many of the eateries and specialty food locations we will visit. When is the best time to take the tour?

We highly recommend taking the Taste of Twin City Food Tour at the beginning of your visit to St. Croix. Doing so will help you become familiar with the island’s customs and culture as well as learn about all the local foods you’ll be sure to enjoy throughout your entire visit. Another reason to take our tour early on in your visit is to allow you extra time to return to your favorite tasting locations on the tour and redeem your exclusive Virgin Islands Food Tours coupons.

Does the tour end at the same place we meet?

No, our Taste of Twin City Food Tour does not finish at the same location as the meeting point. However, detailed instructions are provided after ticket purchase with the starting location and all participants will receive a map with return directions at the beginning of the tour.

If you’d like to continue exploring downtown Christiansted or return to our tasting locations to redeem your exclusive Virgin Islands Food Tours coupons, our guides are prepared to direct you to any location in the downtown area you would like to go.

Additionally, there will be a number of taxis in the area to get you back to your hotel, resort, vacation rental or the cruise terminal after the tour.

If I am on a cruise, will the tour be finished in time for me to get back to my ship?

Yes, our tours are designed to ensure you have plenty of time to get to and from your ship.

Is there parking near the tour meeting point?

Yes, there is plenty of street parking near the starting point of the Taste of Twin City Food Tour. We will provide specific parking details upon the purchase of your tickets.

Can I shop during the tour?

Because of our pre-arranged timing for our tour stops, we kindly ask all tour guests to reserve their desire to ‘shop til you drop’ for after the tour to ensure that we arrive at all of our tasting locations on time.

Refunds and Cancellations

All tickets purchased for our Taste of Twin City Food Tour and Christiansted Sip & Savor Mixology Class can be cancelled up to 48 hours before your scheduled tour.

No refunds will be issued within 48 hours of the scheduled tour date. Guests are permitted to rebook up to 24 hours before their scheduled tour.

Tours may be cancelled due to severe inclement weather (such as a hurricane or thunderstorms). In these rare cases, we will reschedule your tour or refund your ticket purchase.

Is the tour appropriate for children?

Children are always welcomed, however the length of the tour is 2.5-3 hours long and may be difficult for children with limited attention spans. Parents should assess their children individually when determining if a food tour is suitable for them.

Do we only walk around and sample food?

Absolutely not! Our tours combine architectural commentary, historical facts, local culture and culinary insight into a unique 3-hour experience. Learn about the island’s diverse history dating back to the early 1400s, its architectural connection to its Danish roots and experience delicious local foods and drinks stemmed in sustainability and agriculture.

What if I have dietary restrictions or allergies?

Please let us know if you or anyone in your group has dietary restrictions (i.e. celiac disease, vegetarian, food allergies, etc.) when you purchase your tickets. Advising us in advance will allow us the opportunity to accommodate your needs.

Do I need to purchase tickets in advance?

All tickets for our Taste of Twin City Food Tour and Christiansted Sip & Savor Mixology Class must be purchased in advance. In order to guarantee food and drink tastings are prepared for you, we must provide advance notice to our food partners.

Our tours sell out well in advance. To ensure you secure your preferred date and number of tickets, we encourage you to purchase tickets in advance.

Tickets can only be purchased from our website using a Visa, AMEX, MasterCard or Discover credit card. Cash and/or walk-up traffic the day of the tours are not accepted.

If a food tour is sold out, can I get on a waiting list?

Unfortunately, we do not have a waiting list for tours once they are sold out.

Are bathrooms available during the tour?

Yes, bathrooms are available during the tour at selected food-tasting locations. Your tour guide will remind you at various stops on the tour where bathrooms are available for use.

Is the tour cancelled due to bad weather?

Our Taste of Twin City Tour is held rain or shine. In the event of inclement weather, we will be able to enjoy the tasting inside of the various establishments on the tour. We also provide ponchos in case of sudden weather changes or if you do not have your own umbrella. Please be sure to check the weather conditions on the day of your tour and dress accordingly.

If severe inclement weather such as a hurricane occurs, we will gladly reschedule your tour or refund your ticket purchase.

Are tours wheelchair and baby stroller accessible?

The Taste of Twin City Food tour is accessible for baby strollers; however, the tour is not suitable for guests requiring wheelchair assistance or those with severe mobility issues. The tour route includes one slightly inclined hill as well as two tasting locations accessible by stairs only.

If you are bringing a stroller, please let us know at least 24 hours before the tour begins to so that we can ensure you have the best tour experience possible.

Are tours offered in English only?

Yes, we only offer tours in English at this time. Please contact us if you would like to make arrangements for your own interpreter to join the tour.

What should I bring on the tour?

You should bring with you a camera and a small bottle of water. When it’s really hot out, we recommend an application of sunscreen on exposed parts of the body and a lightweight pair of sunglasses. If it looks like rain, we can provide you with a plastic rain poncho.

Do you support corporate or private events?

We absolutely do! We can accommodate a variety of special requests (family reunions, destination weddings, birthday parties, out of town guests, corporate events, conventions and more).

Do you offer gift certificates?

Do I need to purchase a ticket if I’m not eating?

Yes, all guests must purchase a ticket whether they plan to participate in the food tastings or not. Non-paying individuals will not be able to join the tour for any reason.

What is included in the ticket price?

Our Taste of Twin City Food Tour tickets included all food and drink tastings, a guided tour and exclusive tasting location coupons. Your professional tour guide will offer insightful commentary on the history, architecture and culture of St. Croix and the Downtown Christiansted area along the tour route. Gratuity is not included in the ticket price.

In the event my cruise ship cannot come to port or is otherwise redirected, can I get a refund on my tickets?

Yes. If for some reason your ship does not come to port in St. Croix, we will refund your ticket purchase within 48 hours.
